Procrastination

I’ve been meaning to get to this next blog, I just haven’t seemed to find the time. Ever felt anything like that?

My guess is that you have. Time demands are universal. I was reading a book recently by a Harvard economist who said that in the 1940′s people believed that technology would create a workforce that only needed to work 20 hours a week! I don’t know about you, but technology seems to have only increased the demands on my time. The more innovation we have the more ways we find to use it. Preparing some new “non-linear” PowerPoint slides for class takes an incredible amount of time just looking for the right pictures or videos on the internet. I’ve found all kinds of new ways to procrastinate!

However, our job is to obey the master, following in Jesus’ footsteps. I don’t see Jesus procrastinating-but neither do I see him hurrying. He takes just the right amount of time to accomplish each task for which the Father called him.

Lord, in all that we do, teach us your timetable. Help us to walk with you, learning your rhythms of life.
