Peer Mentorship
Peer+Connect is a peer-to-peer student mentorship program through Richmont Graduate University that is offered to new students as a way to provide support and connection as they transition to graduate school.
Application deadlines for Peer+Connect:
- Fall Semester | Due August 15
- Spring Semester | Due January 15
As a Peer Mentor, you agree to:
- Commit to being a mentor for one semester
- Discuss mentorship expectations with your mentee at the start
- Serve as a source of support and encouragement to new students as they adjust to graduate school
- Initiate contact once the Office of Student Success pairs you with a mentee
- Contact your mentee at least twice a month via an agreed upon method (text, email, etc.)
- Connect in-person or virtually at least twice during the semester
- Discuss expectations regarding mentorship at the beginning
- If academic advising or counseling is needed, encourage your mentee to seek out other university resources to meet those needs
As a Peer Mentee, you agree to:
- Commit to the mentorship for one semester
- Discuss mentorship expectations with your mentor at the start
- Receive support and encouragement as you adjust to graduate school
- Connect in-person or virtually at least twice during the semester, with additional communication via best form of contact (text, email, etc.)
- Seek out other university resources to meet academic advising or counseling needs
