The addictions counseling track is designed to provide specialized training for those students who wish to work with individuals in the broad area of addictions. These students will be trained to work with a wide range of issues but will receive specific training related to human addictions that is grounded in Christian theology.
The child and adolescent track is designed to provide specialized training for those students planning to work primarily with children and teens. These students still fulfill all licensure requirements and also are trained in working with adults. However, they receive systematic training in important areas needed to provide counseling to children and adolescents from a Christian perspective.
The Christian sex therapy track is designed to provide specialized training for those students who wish to work with individuals in the broad area of sexuality. These students will be trained to work with a wide range of issues but will receive specific training related to human sexuality that is grounded in Christian theology.
The spirituality and counseling track is designed to provide specialized training for students who desire to explicitly integrate principles and practices from historic Christian spirituality into their professional practice. While this degree option is designed to fulfill the academic requirements for licensure, it also affords a systematic focus on how the practices of Christian formation and spiritual direction may be integrated into the counseling process.
