Distance Education

The Richmont Libraries strive to provide our online students with high quality collections and services. We recognize that online students face additional barriers to library access. Library faculty and staff will attempt to respond to all online student inquiries and requests in a timely manner.

Please email libraries@richmont.edu with any questions or requests.

Library Collections

  • Online students may access electronic Richmont library resources through our catalog in GALILEO (access provided through your Richmont email). Through GALILEO, students have immediate 24-hour access to millions of eBooks, academic journals, streaming videos, and electronic databases.

  • Online students may request to check-out and receive physical items from the collections of the Richmont Libraries. The library will mail these items to the student’s residence free of charge, enclosed with a prepaid postage label for easy and free return. Please note that it may take several business days for an item to arrive through the mail. Online students are expected to return library resources in a timely manner and are responsible for any lost or damaged items. Some items, including class textbooks and reference materials, do not circulate, though library staff would be happy to provide copyright-compliant chapter scans of required materials.
  • Online students may request copyright-compliant scans of book chapters or articles to be delivered electronically. A member of the library faculty or staff will scan the item and send it to the online student’s email as a pdf.
